David A. Cassidy Jr., 33, was charged with four counts of felony DUI, driving with a blood alcohol level of .02 or high with a suspended license, and various traffic offenses, Slate Belt Regional Police said in a Tuesday, Nov. 1 release.
Cassidy was seen lying on the ground as officers responded to a motorcycle crash near the intersection of Sullivan Trail and Filetown Road in Nazareth just before 3:55 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24, according to the release.
Cassidy was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries — meanwhile, police suspected him to be under the influence and went to a judge to seek approval for a search warrant.
The warrant application was approved, and Cassidy’s blood tested positive for methamphetamine, fentanyl, and marijuana, as well as a metabolite of the schedule I controlled substance, police said.
Cassidy had two prior DUI offenses, as well as one prior offense of driving with a suspended license while under the influence of alcohol, police said.
Cassidy was taken into custody around 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, and released on $5,000 unsecured bail upon arraignment.
